Billing and Credits
How it works
Shake is free. Credits power @shake AI runs.
Every workspace starts with a free allocation of AI credits — no card required. Everything in Shake other than @shake agent runs is permanently free: kanban boards, docs, chat, calendar, integrations, and unlimited workspace members.
When your workspace runs out of credits, @shake pauses. Your boards, docs, chat, and integrations remain fully live — nothing is locked or deleted.
Credits
AI credits are consumed each time @shake runs. A run includes reading your codebase, writing code, opening a PR, and shipping a deploy. Credit usage is proportional to the work done.
Credits belong to the workspace — not individual members. Everyone on the team draws from the same shared pool. The workspace billing owner manages payment settings.
You can monitor usage and purchase credits in Settings → Billing.
Buying credits
Credits are purchased in packs via Square. The more you buy, the less each credit costs.

Auto-recharge
Set it up once, never run out. Configure a low-balance threshold and a refill pack size. When your balance drops below the threshold, your card on file is charged automatically. You get an email notification each time auto-recharge fires.
You can pause auto-recharge or update your threshold and pack size at any time in Settings → Billing.
No card required
A card is only needed when you want to buy more credits. Your starter credits are available immediately after signup with no payment information required.
No subscriptions
There are no subscription plans. No monthly invoices. No recurring billing dates. Credits are purchased upfront and consumed as you use @shake. Auto-recharge is the only "recurring" mechanic — and it only charges you when your workspace is actively using AI.
