Terms of Service
Last updated: April 18, 2026
Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Shake (“Shake,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including our website at shake.dev and all related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using Shake on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
The service
Shake is a project workspace and AI collaboration platform. It provides kanban boards, documents, real-time chat, calendar, integrations with third-party developer services, and @Shake, an AI agent built into every workspace.
Shake is provided as-is and may change over time. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable.
Accounts and access
Registration
You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at security@shake.dev if you suspect unauthorized access.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in certain jurisdictions) to use Shake. Shake is intended for developer teams and individuals building software. Use by minors requires parental or guardian consent where required by law.
Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Do not share your magic link sign-in emails with others. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorized account access caused by your failure to maintain account security.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Shake to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Infringe intellectual property rights of others
- Transmit malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Shake systems or other users’ data
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users
- Engage in spam, phishing, or deceptive practices
- Use @Shake to generate content that is illegal, harmful, or violates third-party rights
- Reverse engineer or decompile the Service beyond what open-source licenses permit
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service without authorization
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Credits and billing
Free credits
Every workspace receives a one-time allocation of free AI credits upon creation. These credits are consumed when Shake runs. All other Shake features are free with no credit cost.
Purchasing credits
Additional credits are purchased in packs via Square. Payment is processed at the time of purchase. All sales are final except as required by applicable law or as described in the refund section below.
Auto-recharge
If you enable auto-recharge, your stored payment method will be automatically charged when your workspace credit balance drops below the configured threshold. You can disable auto-recharge or change your threshold at any time in Settings → Billing. Charges that have already been processed are not refundable unless a billing error occurred.
Credits expiration
Purchased credits do not expire. Free starter credits may have an expiration period which will be communicated at sign-up.
Refunds
We will issue a full refund for credits purchased within 7 days if no credits from that purchase have been consumed. To request a refund, contact billing@shake.dev. We do not issue partial refunds for partially consumed packs outside of billing errors.
Price changes
Credit pack pricing may change. We will announce price changes with at least 14 days’ notice before they take effect. Existing auto-recharge configurations will continue at the price in effect when they were set up for 30 days following a price change.
Your content
Ownership
You retain ownership of all content you create in Shake — cards, documents, messages, code, and any other data. Shake claims no ownership over your content.
License to Shake
By using Shake, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, display, and transmit your content solely as necessary to provide the Service to you. This license terminates when you delete the content or your account.
AI-generated content
Content generated by Shake is produced on your behalf using your prompts and workspace context. You own the output. We make no warranty about the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of AI-generated content for any particular purpose. You are responsible for reviewing and validating AI-generated code and outputs before acting on them.
Content standards
You are responsible for the content you create and the instructions you give to Shake. Content must comply with these Terms and all applicable laws.
Third-party integrations
Shake integrates with GitHub, Vercel, Supabase, and Railway. By connecting these services, you authorize Shake to act on your behalf within those services using the permissions you grant. You remain bound by the terms of service of each third-party provider. Shake is not responsible for actions taken by third-party services, changes to their APIs, or outages in those services.
Intellectual property
Shake and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Shake and protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from Shake’s interface, branding, or documentation without written permission.
Availability and uptime
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Shake may be unavailable due to maintenance, infrastructure failures, or causes beyond our control. Credits consumed prior to a service disruption are not refundable. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate planned maintenance in advance.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR PURPOSES.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHAKE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SHAKE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100 USD IF NO PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shake and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms, with or without notice depending on severity. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Workspace data may be retained for up to 30 days before deletion to allow for account recovery in case of accidental termination.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You consent to exclusive jurisdiction and venue in the courts located in Delaware for any disputes arising from these Terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice in the Shake interface at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
